Medical Legal Partnership

MILS is a subgrantee of an AmeriCorps grant for medical-legal partnership. Alaska Pacific University has received a multi-state grant from AmeriCorps to host one-year AmeriCorps members to facilitate the medical-legal partnership (MLP) program serving American Indians and Alaskan Natives throughout the US. 21 members will be recruited throughout the US. 

MILS's AmeriCorps staff member will serve tribal clinic patients in Northern Michigan. The MILS-hosted AmeriCorps staff member is partnering with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa and the Little River Band of Ottawa's health & behavioral health clinic.
