Treaty & Statutory Rights

MILS staff may provide legal assistance to individuals to ensure that rights guaranteed to Native Americans by treaty or statute are secured (e.g., Jay Treaty, Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver, Indian Arts and Crafts Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act).
